Private Residence North Shore

North Shore, MA

The ornate and whimsical design of the railings was water jet fabricated for the home owner, an author of children's books. The various shapes evoked references to the author’s work and, while the railings had a practical purpose, they also served to draw neighborhood children and tourists to the site.

The location is on the North Shore of Massachusetts and is constantly exposed to the salt air. The fabricator’s previous experience with galvanizing led them to insist that the steel be hot dip galvanized to protect it from the aggressive environment.
